Ingredients
- 1 pound of beef
- 1 pound of pork

- 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

- 3 cups of beef broth
- 3 tablespoons of tomato paste
Instructions
In a large stockpot, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and pork and cook until the meat is browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Add the onion, garlic, and peppers and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Add the plantain, allspice, nutmeg, thyme, salt, and pepper and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
Add the beef broth and tomato paste to the pot and stir to combine. Bring the stew to a boil and reduce the heat to low. Simmer the stew for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and the flavors have blended together.
Serve the stew with rice or mashed potatoes, or enjoy as is!
